The City of San Diego is dedicated to furthering fair housing efforts by promoting fair and equal housing chances for its locals. The City of San Diego, in combination with the San Diego Regional Alliance for Fair Housing, has finished the Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice (AI) for Fiscal Year 2021 to 2025. Established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the AI is a structured process developed to help jurisdictions - like ours-- comprehend and evaluate our Fair Housing landscape.


The AI report represents a demographic profile of San Diego County, evaluates the level of housing requirements among specific income groups, and assesses the series of readily available housing choices for homeowners. The AI also evaluates the conditions in the private market and public sector that may limit the range of housing choices or impede an individual's access to housing. More significantly, this AI determines obstacles that may avoid equivalent housing gain access to and establishes solutions to reduce or remove such impediments.
